Requirements Prior to the Sale of a Home/Business

  • Utility Inspection (Mandatory)
    • The City must be contacted at least one (1) week in advance to schedule a mandatory Utility Inspection.
    • Utility Inspection Fee:  [See City Fee Schedule]
    • A trained City Inspector from the Public Works Department will complete the Utility Inspection.
    • Inside access to the home/business is required.
    • If the Utility Inspection fails, the City Inspector will make notes of the necessary repair/replacement work that needs to be completed.
    • Once the necessary repairs are made, contact the City to schedule a re-inspection of the property.
  • Water Disconnection/Shut-Off
    • Water Shut-Off Fee:  Free
    • Water Re-connection Fee:  $75.00
  • Water/Sewer Bill Balances
    • Current and past-due water bills shall be paid at closing (sale of the property) and any outstanding balance (verified by the Utility Billing Dept.) shall be forwarded to the City by the closing company.
