Lonsdale (pop. 4,700) boasts a tremendous parks and trails system, including 135 acres of parkland/open space and 13 miles of trails.  Over the past two decades, the majority of Lonsdale's park amenities and trailways have been funded by grants, donations, and parkland dedication/payment in-lieu-of (development).  The vast parks and trails system provides ample opportunity to participate and experience a multitude of sports, recreation, and outdoor activities.
