Snow Emergency Information

When & Why

The City of Lonsdale's Public Works Director will declare a snow emergency when accumulations/ice/drifting causes conditions that that affect travel. The snow emergency announcement will contain a time in which snow and ice control operations will begin. The snow emergency remains in effect until all city streets are plowed curb to curb

Vehicles & Parking

All vehicles must be removed from city streets prior to the snow emergency start time. Failure to remove your vehicle could result in tickets and/or the towing of your vehicle. 

During a Snow Emergency, free parking is available in the parking lot at TRCKA Hockey Rink at 330 Idaho St SW

How Do I Know There is a Snow Emergency Declared? 

You can assume with any heavy snowfall that there will be a snow emergency declared and that you should remove your vehicle from city streets until it is plowed curb-to-curb, however, the city posts all snow emergency declarations on the city's website homepage under News & Announcements and through these other outlets:
